Roy Orbison Tribute Barry Steele is one of the U.K.'s leading Tributes to the legendary Roy Orbison. He receives rave reviews wherever he performs his tribute to the "Big O," with many an audience convinced he is miming, this has led to Barry singing either acapella or changing the words in songs, to convince the audience it is not a tape of Roy Orbison . To complete the authenticity and quality of his tribute Barry has spent hours learning to play the guitar.
Barrys is available with either quality play back or with his live band "The Black and White knights" and would like to advise you that he does not mime, he has never mimed and will never mime. his vocal talent means he does'nt have to!
Barry has toured both the UK and New Zealand and is equally at home in large theatres or in more intimate clubs and restaurants. Barrys shows consist of his tribute to Roy Orbison "The Darkest Star" and his accolade to the Kings of 'Vegas, Neil Diamond, Elvis & Englebert.

When Roy Orbison died in 1988, it was left to others to bring his music to the concert stage. No easy task. But Barry Steele comes with very good credentials and a genuine admiration of the Big O. Just imagine it is the 30th of September 1987 and Roy Orbison is in the Coconut Grove Nightclub in Los Angeles recording the sensational Black and White Night.
Relive this golden evening as Barry Steele effortlessly transports you back to what was arguably one of Roy Orbison’s greatest performances. often accused of Miming Barry often has to sing accapella or change the words in songs to convince audiences that it is indeed his voice and not The Big O himself.
Barry Steele has toured extensively across the UK, Europe and New Zealand, he toured for two years in the show "Rockin on Heavens Door." as the Big O , before leaving in March 2009 to concentrate on his own shows. He is now promoting, producing and performing in theatres acorss the country in Roy Orbison and The Beatles "Live in Concert" and "Class of 63" to rave reviews, he also takes to the stage in Marc J Robinsons Live Theatre show Legends, and solo in The Darkest Star Show. He has been described by the stage newspaper as

BARRY LIVE AT THE EMBASSY SKEGNESS 2010
2009 was an eventful year with Barry leaving Rockin on Heavens Door in March 2009 to concentrate on his own theatre shows. The success of our own live shows continues to grow with Roy Orbison and Friends receiving great reviews and touring across the nation and Europe in 2010/2011. We are also really pleased with the continued success of our solo "The Darkest Star show", and with many of our shows being sell outs this has been fantastic given the current economic climate.
We have had some fantastic feedback, and many of our venues have already booked us back for 2010/2011 We are really chuffed to have received some lovely emails and reviews (PICS ON THE GALLERY PAGE) and we are really
looking forward to returning to Denmark for the fouth time later this year following our successful tour last year. Dont forget to visit our Voice of Vegas page where there are sound files of Barry as Neil Diamond. Elvis and Englebert. (it always surpises me how Barry can change the way he talks and sings so effortlessly, he does a terrific Norman Wisdom as well!)
